Position Summary

The Registered Nurse Paediatrics/Neonatal Intensive Care Unit will provide specialty skills as required for:
• Paediatrics
• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Paediatric Outpatients

Qualifications

• Current general class registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) required.
• Current CPR Certification required.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience working in a Paediatrics department/with newborns in a Level 2 or 3 nursery or combined care unit required.
• Paediatric Advanced Life Support required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certificate required.
• Preference given to candidates with successful completion of the Neonatal Intensive Care Course.
• Preference given to candidates with a Paediatric oncology course.
• Experience with Cerner electronic documentation system an asset.
• Commitment to providing high quality, individualized patient care.
• Ability to form good working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.
• Ability to make intelligent, independent decisions and initiate appropriate action based on patient-focused best practice guidelines.
• Excellent work performance and attendance record required.
• The successful candidate will have a proven commitment to professional development as well as to the Mission and Vision of the Hospital. Demonstrates proficiency in written and verbal communications skills in relation to working with patients across the care continuum.
