Position Summary

The Registered Nurse at the Regional Centre (OSMH) of the RKCP SM is responsible for comprehensive, co-ordinated and individualized care of patients with end stage renal disease and acute kidney injury requiring hemodialysis treatments in accordance with the mission, vision and goals of the program. The Registered Nurse is an active member of the multidisciplinary care team which provides care and support to patients and families across the Regional Program. The hemodialysis RN provides hemodialysis and renal care to inpatients and outpatients of the program as well as off unit hemodialysis in the intensive care unit once 6 months has been completed or earlier if previous experience. Call is a requirement on a rotational basis apx. 4 nights per 10 week rotation and 24 hour on Sunday once every 10 weeks.

Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Program Manager. Potential to be utilized in other patient care areas.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of competence to practice as a Registered Nurse in Ontario is required.
• BScN preferred
• CNeph (c) preferred
• Minimum one (1) year recent hemodialysis experience prefered.
. Ability to read ECG's preferred.
• Demonstrated strong communications skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated computer literacy.
