Position Summary

The Speech and Language Pathologist is responsible for providing clinical Speech-Language Pathology services including assessment, diagnosis, program planning, therapy, counselling, consultation, and education to the referred patient, family, and mediators.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in the area of Speech-Language Pathology, or academic equivalent required.
• Member in good standing with CASLPO (College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario)required.
• Membership with Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) is considered an asset.
• Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience required.
• MBSImP Standardized Clinical Training and Reliability Testing an asset.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and multi task efficiently.
• Demonstrated computer literacy.
• Demonstrated ability to transport materials (up to 20 lbs.), or push a patient in a wheelchair.
• Demonstrated ability to sustain intense listening/mental concentration.
• Demonstrated ability to make frequent changes in body position.
• Demonstrated good visual skills with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently or in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to focus on quality outcomes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of equipment used in assessing language skills.
