This position will be responsible for service provision in all areas of the hospital including adult ICU, Level 2 NICU, Paediatrics, Emergency, Operating Room, Medical/Surgical units, Dialysis, and Chronic Care. Respiratory Therapy Services offer a full range of diagnostic studies including full PFT studies, bronchial provocation, ABG procurement and analysis, ABPM testing, and sleep diagnostics. Respiratory therapists provide airway management including endotracheal intubation, work closely with physicians in ventilator management, attend high-risk deliveries, and provide support services to the department of anaesthesia.
• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy program.• Holds current RRT registration with the CSRT.• Holds current General Certificate of Registration with the CRTO.• NRP AND ACLS certification required.• PALS certification desired.• Must be able to perform all the duties in the position description.• Satisfactory work performance and attendance record required.• The successful candidate will have a proven commitment to professional development as well as to the Mission and Vision of the Hospital. Demonstrates proficiency in written and verbal communications skills in relation to working with patients across the care continuum. Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical record and on-line documentation an asset.
